Surgical Nutrition Fellowship
The BWH Metabolic Support Service (MSS) launched its one-year Surgical Nutrition Fellowship in 2011. The fellowship is intended for residents who have completed at least two years of training. It will prepare fellows for the National Board of Nutrition Support Certification Exam.
Acute Care Surgery Fellowships
BWH offers a two-year Acute Care Surgery Fellowship: one year in an ACGME-accredited program leading to eligibility for ABS certification in Surgical Critical Care, and a second year of trauma and emergency surgery training based on the AAST curriculum, including rotations in burn care, orthopedics, neurosurgery, and vascular surgery. Applications will be accepted until positions are filled.
Year 1: Surgical Critical Care Fellowship (ACGME-accredited)
Year 2: Acute Care Surgery Fellowship (non-ACGME; also available as a one-year fellowship)
BWH is certified as a level I adult trauma center and level I burn center. More than 2,000 adult trauma patients and 1,500 non-trauma emergency surgery patients are managed by the Hospital annually.
