Harvard Plastic Surgery Residency Program
The mission of the Harvard Plastic Surgery Training Program is to provide the highest quality plastic surgical care to patients in need and to provide the most comprehensive level of education and the best training program for residents, students and fellows in plastic surgery. It is the aim of the program to also further the science of plastic surgery through research. Our residency program trains residents in the art and science of plastic surgery through a comprehensive and well-rounded balance of structured education, research and clinical experience. The ultimate goal is to produce excellent, ethical plastic surgeons capable of managing a wide spectrum of problems, who can function at a superior level of competence throughout their careers, become leaders in our field and further the course of our specialty.

Fellowship Programs
The Division of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery offers three clinical fellowships:
The Stepping Strong Harvard Hand/Upper Extremity Fellowship is under the direction of Dr. Philip E. Blazar (Orthopedic Surgery) and Dr. Christian Sampson (Plastic Surgery). The fellow joins three orthopedic-trained hand fellows in the Harvard Hand/Upper Extremity Fellowship. This twelve-month fellowship commences August 1. The Brigham and Women’s Hospital Fellowship in Microvascular Surgery is under the direction of Dr. Jessica Erdmann-Sager. The fellow will be exposed to an array of microvascular reconstructive operations and secondary revision procedures. Breast reconstruction, including implant-based techniques, will be the focus of the fellowship; however, the fellow will also participate in extremity and head and neck microsurgical cases. This twelve-month fellowship commences July 1. Prospective applicants should apply through sfmatch.org.
The Harvard/Brigham & Women’s Hospital Complex Gender & Microsurgery Fellowship is directed by Dr. Devin O’Brien Coon. Experience is provided in all core procedures, including phalloplasty, metoidioplasty, vaginoplasty, non-gender microsurgical urogenital reconstruction and craniofacial feminization. Program leadership training is also available in a growing multidisciplinary program. The fellow will hold a faculty attending appointment as Clinical Instructor with opportunities for graduated independence. This twelve-month fellowship commences July 1.
