The Ophthalmology Service at Brigham and Women's Hospital (BWH) provides a comprehensive resource for all disorders of the eye with care provided by Mass Eye and Ear specialists on the medical staff at BWH. We provide inpatient consult and trauma services at BWH and outpatient services and surgery at the nearby Mass Eye and Ear Longwood outpatient center in the Longwood Medical Area.
Our services include routine eye care as well as comprehensive evaluation and treatment of complex and systemic disorders.

Our Surgeons
Our world-renowned ophthalmic surgeons, have completed post-residency subspecialty training, are board certified and are faculty at Harvard Medical School.
Comprehensive Ophthalmology and Cataract Consultation Service (COS)
Our services include comprehensive evaluation and treatment of complex and systemic disorders such as diabetes, glaucoma, macular degeneration, cataract and retinal detachment.
Inpatient Consultation and Ocular Trauma Services
Since July 2009, our team has provided care for patients admitted to the BWH emergency department and for the inpatient consultation service at BWH. In caring for our patients, we create working partnerships with them, their referring physicians, and the colleagues who join us in providing their care. We understand and value the role of each member of the patient care team.
Ocular trauma care provided by the emergency department at BWH coordinated by the Director of Mass Eye and Ear’s Trauma Service and is supported by over 60 physicians specializing in ophthalmic care.
