Welcome
The Department of Radiology at Brigham and Women’s Hospital offers several exciting opportunities for medical students. These opportunities are designed to expose medical students to the field of radiology through clinical, didactic and observation experiences. We offer a core radiology clerkship for Harvard medical students that provides a comprehensive review of diagnostic imaging. In addition, several advanced electives are available to both Harvard and visiting students that are designed to familiarize students with the interpretation of medical images and to provide opportunities for observing and participating in procedures, attending clinical conferences, hands on ultrasound scanning and viewing teaching files.
Brigham and Women’s Hospital offers four advanced elective courses in radiology. These courses are designed to provide an opportunity for students, who, having completed the core clerkship or equivalent, wish further instruction in specific radiological subspecialty areas. These courses are open to both Harvard and visiting students. Applications for the Advanced Clerkships are made to the Registrar's Office of Harvard Medical School. Students from medical schools other than Harvard (including United States, Canadian, and other foreign medical schools) interested in the Advanced Clerkship, the Diagnostic Ultrasound Elective, the Nuclear Medicine Elective, and the Interventional Radiology subinternship should write or call for additional information and application materials.
