Eucharistic Ministers

The Brigham and Women's Spiritual Care Services Department has an active Eucharistic Ministry Program that consists of Catholic volunteers bringing communion to the Catholic patients.

Eucharistic Ministers are trained to visit and listen to patients. They provide a continuity of sacramental care as well as an opportunity for patients to communicate unmet spiritual needs.

Many lives have been touched by the dedication and devotion of Eucharistic Ministers bringing communion to patients. Patients and families repeatedly tell the staff how important it is to be able to receive the Eucharist while in the hospital.

We ask for Eucharistic Ministers to volunteer for a minimum of one year to come in once a week for two to three hours to bring communion.

If this program interests you, please contact Fran Hauck, coordinator of the Eucharistic Minister program, at (617) 732-7480 or via email at fhauck@partners.org.

If you wish to apply please download and print the BWH Eucharistic Minister Application in PDF form. With the PDF version you need to Download Adobe Acrobat Reader, if you don't have it already and then simply click on the link and download.
