The Clinical Cytogenetics Laboratory for the Mass General Brigham system is based at Brigham and Women's Hospital and processes specimens from hospitals including Brigham and Women's Hospital, Massachusetts General Hospital, and Dana-Farber Cancer Institute.
The Laboratory performs conventional chromosome analysis, fluorescence in situ hybridization (FISH), and SNP microarrays. Specimens routinely evaluated include chorionic villi, amniotic fluids, peripheral and cord bloods, products of conception, bone marrows, lymph nodes, and solid tumors.
Multiple ABMGG-certified faculty and a team of AGT-certified technologists contribute both breadth and depth in delivering a high caliber diagnostic service. Research and development are focused on state-of-the-art cytogenetic and cytogenomic technologies.
The Laboratory is aligned closely with the BWH Translational Biomarker Core, through which clinical trials and other research focused projects are completed under the supervision of an ABMGG-certified Clinical Cytogeneticist.
