The Soft Tissue and Bone Pathology Service of the Division of Surgical Pathology provides comprehensive diagnostic expertise and services relating to the pathology of disorders of the soft tissues, muscle and bone, principally tumors. In addition to evaluation by conventional histology, a variety of specialized immunohistochemical, cytogenetic and molecular genetic tests are routinely available. The Service provides expert diagnostic interpretation of in-house cases for Brigham and Women's Hospital and the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute, as well as a very large national and international consultation service. Active educational initiatives include daily teaching of students, residents and fellows, along with programs for continuing medical education.
