The Brigham and Women's Sports Medicine and Shoulder Service provides expert treatment for athletes who play on high school, collegiate and professional teams, as well as recreational athletes of all ages.
Brigham and Women's Hospital has a long tradition of providing comprehensive and innovative care for patients with orthopedic problems and joint diseases. Nearly a century ago, the Robert Breck Brigham Hospital, one of our founding hospitals, became the first teaching hospital in the country wholly devoted to arthritis and related diseases. Since that time, the Orthopaedic & Arthritis Center has worked to establish one of the most highly regarded orthopaedic and joint disease research and treatment programs in the world. Building on that reputation, BWH has developed a successful sports medicine and shoulder repair program that helps get athletes back in competition.
