Meet Our Team of Multiples Experts

For their obstetrical care, all expectant patients at the Brigham's Comprehensive Care Center for Multiples see a maternal-fetal medicine (MFM) specialist who is experienced in pregnancies involving twins, triplets or more. MFM specialists are experts in caring for women who have complications identified prior to or during pregnancy along with their unborn babies.

Our team also includes clinical and administrative staff who work together to deliver highly specialized, personalized care for women, babies and families.

Center for Multiples director Dr. Bibbo, an MFM specialist with a clinical focus on multiple pregnancies, has seen patients in the Brigham's MFM clinic since 2015. Since patients expecting multiples require frequent visits, she monitors for potential medical complications and gets to know patients and families on a personal level. Dr. Bibbo earned her medical degree from the Boston University School of Medicine and completed her MFM fellowship at the Brigham. She is bilingual in Spanish. "I am very straightforward, and I strive for my patients to be continuously informed about their pregnancy progression," Dr. Bibbo says. "I love seeing the evolution of my relationship with patients, from discussions about potential risks to planning the delivery and the joy and adventures of raising a family."

Kara Donati, PA-C

Kara has been a physician assistant in maternal-fetal medicine at the Brigham since 2017. She has extensive experience in caring for women with high-risk pregnancies, including multiple pregnancies. She received a bachelor's degree in biomedical science from the University of New Hampshire and holds a master of physician assistant studies from Massachusetts College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences. "The challenges that women carrying multiples face during pregnancy and after delivery are unique and demanding," she says. "It is my goal to ensure our patients receive the specialized care and support they deserve throughout this exciting time in their lives."

Kelly Earls, LICSW, MPH

Kelly, a social worker who supports our multiples’ families during pregnancy, post-partum, and through any NICU admissions, joined the Brigham in July 2022, having spent the first 12 years of her career working in obstetrics and pediatric hospital settings in Northern California. She received a dual Master’s Degree in Social Work and Public Health from the University of California: Berkeley. Kelly runs a monthly support group for our pregnant patients, can help connect them to community resources, and provides overall support around the many emotions that can arise during a multiples’ pregnancy. “I appreciate that I get to know and support patients through the whole continuum of their perinatal journey,” she says. That journey can include “the outpatient appointments, preparing for delivery and post-partum, and for some of our families, helping them find their way as parents in the NICU environment.”
