The Center for Congenital Anomalies of the Reproductive Tract, within the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology at Brigham and Women’s Hospital, has a multidisciplinary focus with the mission to provide excellent and accurate diagnostic and therapeutic management of birth defects affecting the reproductive organs of girls, adolescents, and adult women.
The Center functions for medical, surgical, obstetrical and psychosocial consultation and care of girls, adolescents, and adult women with congenital or acquired structural abnormalities of the reproductive tract.
An initial consultation is arranged with Dr. Marc Laufer, a gynecologic specialty surgeon at Brigham and Women’s Hospital and Chief of Gynecology at Boston Children’s Hospital. Over the past 25 years, Dr. Laufer has cared for hundreds of girls, adolescent and adult women from around the world with varied structural abnormalities of the reproductive tract, including vaginal agenesis (MRKH), androgen insensitivity syndrome (AIS) and complex duplication and obstruction abnormalities. After initial consultation with Dr. Laufer, a treatment plan will be formulated and appointments with the other indicated specialists will be arranged.
