Family Planning Services

Family Planning services are offered through the Family Planning Center and the Complex Contraception Clinic.

The Family Planning Center is an outpatient unit that offers the following services.

First and second trimester abortion care:

• Medication abortion (the abortion pill)
• First trimester uterine aspiration
• Second trimester dilation and evacuation
• IV general anesthesia for those who need or prefer it
• Contraceptive counseling and initiation of all reversible birth control methods

Management of miscarriage, pregnancy loss, or abnormal pregnancy:

• Uterine aspiration (first trimester) or dilation and evacuation (second trimester)
• IV general anesthesia for those who need or prefer it
• Medications (mifepristone and misoprostol) in the first trimester

Insertion and removal of intrauterine contraceptive devices (IUDs) and Nexplanon devices:

• For individuals who need anesthesia or ultrasound guidance for these procedures
• We are a Nexplanon Center of Experience
