Neurological health and disease is directly impacted by hormonal and reproductive changes throughout a woman’s life span. Female concerns such as pregnancy, menopause, fertility, hormone replacement and bone health require a different approach for women being treated for neurological disease. Women who have neurological conditions benefit from specialized, gender-focused care.
The Women’s Neurology Program at Brigham and Women’s Hospital (BWH) is one of a few programs in the United States devoted exclusively to women with neurological conditions. Our multidisciplinary team includes board-certified, fellowship-trained neurologists, neuroradiologists, neurosurgeons, OB/GYN physicians and other specialists who are all experienced in women’s health and neurology. As active researchers, they are leading the way to new approaches in female neurologic care.
