The Brigham and Women's Renal Division is consistently recognized as among the leading academic nephrology divisions in the country. The Division's faculty members are active in all areas of basic, clinical and epidemiological research. Clinical and epidemiological platforms include those in dialysis outcomes, cardiovascular sequelae of chronic kidney disease, hypertension, metabolic bone disease, diabetic nephropathy, nephrolithiasis, nutrition and acute kidney injury. Basic science platforms include those in transplant immunology, diabetic nephropathy, TGF-beta signaling in the kidney, signal transduction, podocyte biology, inflammation and tissue repair, renal stem cell biology, osmotic stress signaling, renal autoimmunity, solute transport, cell cycle regulation, polycystic and other inherited kidney diseases.
