Brigham and Women's Hospital is committed to clearly and thoroughly communicating with all patients and their families about the care we provide. Interpreter services for non-English speaking and hearing impaired patients are important to quality health care. Please let your doctor know, in advance, about any language or hearing needs. If you need an interpreter while in the hospital, please let your nurse or doctor know in advance.

The Patient and Family Relations staff provide a wide range of services to make your experience at the hospital as comfortable as possible. The staff coordinate service requests including:
Child Care Services
If you require child care, Brigham and Women's Hospital has an off-site facility in Chestnut Hill that arranges child care for patients during visits. Prior to your visit, you can drop off your child at the Care Center in Chestnut Hill. Reservations for the center can be made by calling during business hours, Monday through Friday from 6:30am to 5:45pm, or by leaving a voice message after hours. Reservations may be made up to one month prior to the date that care is needed, as well as on the day that care is needed.
When making a reservation you will be asked for:
- Department from which patient is receiving care
- Patient name and blue hospital card number
- Child's name and age
- Date and time care is needed (minimum 2 hours)
The BWH Backup Child Care Center is located at 850 Boylston Street (RTE 9 East) in Chestnut Hill. The Backup Center accepts children of BWH employees and BWH patients between the ages of 8 weeks to 12 years. The Center is open Monday through Friday from 6:30am - 5:45pm. The cost is $6.00/hr per child with a minimum stay of two hours.
