About WIC: Empowering Families through Nutrition

The Women, Infants, and Children (WIC) nutrition program is a vital initiative supported by the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA). Our federally funded program is committed to enhancing the health and well-being of women, infants, and children by providing an array of essential services, all at no cost to participants.

Services offered:

  • Nutrition Education:
    Empowering participants with knowledge for healthy living.
  • Free, Healthy Food:
    Access to a variety of nutritious food options to support overall well-being.
  • Health and Social Services Referrals:
    Connecting families with valuable resources for comprehensive care.
  • Breastfeeding Education and Peer Counselor Support:
    Providing guidance and encouragement for breastfeeding mothers.

WIC Eligibility Requirements

Important to know

  • Mass Health Standard Participants:
    If you are enrolled in Mass Health Standard, congratulations! You are automatically
    eligible for WIC benefits.
  • Foster Children:
    Foster children are automatically eligible for WIC services, regardless of the foster
    parent’s income.
  • SNAP Participants:
    If you are a participant in the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP), you
    are automatically eligible for WIC benefits.
  • Parents, Grandparents, Foster Parents, and Legal Guardians:
    Regardless of your relationship, if you are a father, mother, grandparent, foster parent,
    or other legal guardian of a child under 5, you can apply for WIC on behalf of your child.
