The Brookside Youth Sports Coordinator, a Community HealthCorps member, helps promote exercise and wellness for patients, staff, and community members. The Youth Sports Coordinator is available to help patients and staff of any age get connected with physical activity opportunities in their communities. If you are looking for activities to get involved in, please call, email, or stop by the Youth Sports Office (located across from the WIC/Nutrition Department).
Brookside Wellness Programs
Throughout the year, the Youth Sports Coordinator offers special programs, which may include swim lessons and one-time events. Stay in touch with the Youth Sports Office and check out our bulletin board across from Pediatrics for up-to-date information!
Fitness in the City
In collaboration with the Nutrition and Pediatric Departments, eligible children and youth ages 5-18 can be referred by their primary care provider to Fitness in the City. This program provides free nutrition counseling for weight management and help finding sports and activities.
Healthy Lifestyles Clinic
The Healthy Lifestyles Clinic is an 8-week intensive nutrition and physical activity program for eligible 8-12 year olds and their parents. Patients are referred to this program by their primary care provider. The Healthy Lifestyles Clinic meets once a week for two hours and talks about a different theme each week. Every session includes nutrition education and physical activity for children and parents.
Summer Connections
The Youth Sports Coordinator runs Brookside's Summer Connections program each year. The goal of this program is to help families find summer camps that meet their needs and to help teenagers look for summer job opportunities. If you are looking for information about summer activities, please contact the Youth Sports Office.
