Eligibility requirements are as defined below. An important part of the selection process is the clear and express official commitment of a Brazilian institution with a research infrastructure to provide a position for the candidate after his or her return to Brazil and provide support for cardiovascular research, including, if possible, protection of a portion of his or her professional effort exclusively for research. The candidate him or herself must demonstrate a commitment to research, also presented in an official statement of experience and career goals.
