BWH: Minimally invasive gynecological surgery.

BWH is at the forefront of many new surgical and non-surgical developments to treat a variety of gynecological conditions, treatments that emphasize minimally invasive and non-invasive options. Our Division of Minimally Invasive Gynecologic Surgery provides comprehensive care for women who have all types of gynecological conditions, including endometriosis, uterine fibroids, abnormal uterine bleeding, pelvic pain, pelvic organ prolapse, cervical incompetence and ovarian cysts.

For patients with these conditions, the Division offers the latest minimally invasive surgery options, enabling smaller incisions, decreased pain, faster recovery, and a shorter hospital stay so that patient can quickly return to normal daily activities.

BWH is a national leader in the use of robotic reproductive surgery to improve surgery outcomes. Since surgeons at BWH began using robotics for gynecological surgery in 2007, we have since performed more than 400 consecutive robot-assisted surgeries. BWH surgeons perform robotic hysterectomy surgery to treat gynecologic cancer, robotic myomectomy surgery, reversals of tubal ligation, and other reproductive surgeries with the assistance of robotic technology.

Our expert gynecological surgeons also collaborate with other BWH specialists in urogynecology, gynecologic oncology, pediatric and adolescent gynecology, and reproductive endocrinology to offer comprehensive, multidisciplinary care.
