Patricia A. Chin Nursing SIM Lab

The Patricia A. Chin Nursing Simulation Lab supports education, professional development and lifelong learning for our nurses.

Thanks to a $5 million gift from the Chin Family Foundation, the lab opened in 2024 with two nursing-focused, high-fidelity simulation rooms, a multipurpose conference room and a debriefing room.

The lab provides innovative programming and technologies to advance nursing practice at all stages of professional development, through a collaboration between the Center for Nursing Excellence and the Neil and Elise Wallace STRATUS Center for Medical Simulation.

With these resources, we are able to tailor training and education to different nurse specialty roles, expand continuing education for experienced nurses and map out a long-term education plan.

The nursing community is deeply grateful for Bill and Pat Chin’s generosity and vision with this gift, which has enhanced the professional development and experience of our staff in support of the highest-quality care to our patients.

"The PAC Sim Lab supports all nurses – from novice to expert – in honing their skills, ultimately leading to better patient care. It is a safe space for collaboration, innovation, team building and empowerment through learning."
