Nursing Informatics

The Nursing Informatics program promotes the nursing vision and professional practice model by:

  • Optimizing digital tools for clinicians in partnership with nursing staff, interdisciplinary teams and Mass General Brigham Nursing Informatics colleagues
  • Introducing and implementing innovative technologies to support clinical practice, such as Voalte, a communication tool that enables HIPAA-compliant texting and voice calls among staff
  • Providing education and support to clinical staff for informatics and technology solutions
  • Ensuring all initiatives meet quality and regulatory standards

A Voice for Nurses around Clinical Information Systems

The Informatics team is deeply attuned to the needs of clinical nurses and works to ensure their needs are understood and represented in forums where decisions about clinical information systems are made. The Informatics team also provides forums for staff nurses to share recommendations for improvements, discuss new innovations and streamline workflows to continuously improve the nursing practice environment.

Advancing the Specialty

The team is also dedicated advancing the specialty of Nursing Informatics by mentoring future informatics nurses and participating in local and national forms to share our work and learn best practices.
