Gestational Diabetes

Achieve a Healthy Pregnancy with Gestational Diabetes

Gestational diabetes develops in at least 1 in 20 women during the second half of pregnancy. It resolves after delivery, but gestational diabetes can have serious implications for mother (dangerously high blood pressure and early birth) and baby (excessive growth that can complicate delivery or require Cesarean birth). At our Pregnancy and Diabetes Program an expert, caring team supports you toward our shared goal: Keeping your blood sugars in the right range to achieve a healthy outcome for you and your baby.

Listen to Ellen Seely, MD, Director of Clinical Research in the Division of Endocrinology, Diabetes and Hypertension, discuss the health risks associated with gestational diabetes mellitus during and after pregnancy.
