Active and well-funded research programs in the department focus on ischemia, reperfusion, coagulation, inflammation, myocardial muscle degeneration, periodontal disease and nerve regeneration, muscular dystrophy and spinal cord injury, tissue engineering, stem cell biology and tissue regeneration.
