How You Can Help

Thank you for your interest in volunteering at Brigham and Women’s Hospital (BWH). BWH offers many different service opportunities so that you may find the right "fit" for you.

Volunteering

BWH volunteers range from 16 years of age to 90+ years of age and bring with them a wide variety of life and professional experiences. People choose to volunteer at BWH for many different reasons, including getting active in their community, performing school community service hours, developing skills and experience, and exploring career paths. Whatever your reason for coming aboard, BWH volunteers are an essential part of our dedication to compassionate patient care.

Some of the ways you can get involved as a volunteer at BWH are*:

  • Maintain patient confidentiality,

Rewards

In addition to the reward of aiding in the quality care to BWH patients, volunteers are eligible to receive $5.00 meal coupons during their shift and are able to order a discounted monthly MBTA pass. Volunteers also receive free flu shots during flu season. Volunteers are also invited to attend annual volunteer recognition celebrations.

Request for Department Volunteers

BWH departments that are interested in placing volunteers in their areas can complete a Request for Department Volunteers and submit to Volunteer Coordinator Amy Almeida.
