A heart attack (acute myocardial infarction or MI) is an injury to the heart muscle caused by the sudden blockage of a coronary artery. It is the number-one killer of both American men and women.
In keeping with our goal of providing the best possible care for heart attack patients, we follow an established heart attack treatment protocol that has been shown to improve patient outcomes.
The table below includes:
- 30-day adjusted heart attack mortality rate – This measures deaths from a heart attack within 30 days of a hospital admission.
- 30-day adjusted heart attack readmission rate – This measures readmission to the hospital within 30 days after a patient suffers a heart attack.
