Five Brigham physician assistants (PAs) were named as recipients of 2024 Brigham and Women’s Physician Assistant Recognition Awards, which celebrate the outstanding leadership and patient care Brigham physician assistants provide. Awardees will be acknowledged during the annual PA Week event in October.

The honorees are:

Distinguished PA of the Year

  • Jennifer Beatty, MPAS, PA-C, Department of Surgery, for demonstrating excellence in patient care, continued professional development, leadership as an outstanding role model in the profession and dedication to the institutional mission, vision and core values. Additionally, award recipients have made significant achievements in making BWH a more diverse and inclusive community.

Educator of the Year

  • Lindsay Driscoll, MS, PA-C, Foxborough Primary Care Services, for her commitment to excellence in the clinical education of PAs and PA students as a mentor and instructor. Recipients of this award provide learner-centered education that includes constructive feedback and participate in continued professional development that contributes to teaching and learning.

Rising Stars

  • Angelica Giuliani, MPAS, PA-C, Division of Cardiac Surgery, and Michael McCormick, MS, PA-C, Department of Neurology, for being emerging clinical leaders among colleagues. Awardees have four years or less of PA experience at Brigham and Women’s but demonstrate a commitment to excellent patient care and the desire to go beyond what is expected of them for patients, colleagues and in promotion of the PA profession.

PA Pillar of the Year

  • Jessica McCarthy, PA-C, PACE Hospitalist Service, for outstanding contributions to the local, national and international community. This award is given to an individual who promotes innovative clinical best practices, demonstrates responsiveness to colleagues and goes above and beyond for their patients and family members.
