The Brigham’s Psychology Internship Training Program earned accreditation from the American Psychological Association (APA), affirming that it meets the highest professional and scientific standards for training future psychologists in delivering successful, ethical and skillful care.
Part of the Department of Psychiatry, the program is a 12-month, full-time psychology internship for doctoral students in clinical psychology. Interns train at both Brigham and Women’s Hospital and Brigham and Women’s Faulkner Hospital, with a focus on providing clinical care and engaging in scientific endeavors and research activities.
To become APA-accredited, training programs must go through a multistep process that helps the APA Commission on Accreditation ensure that each accredited program is meeting the Standards of Accreditation.
APA is the leading scientific and professional organization representing psychology in the United States, with more than 157,000 researchers, educators, clinicians, consultants and students as its members.
