Andrea Wershof Schwartz, MD, MPH, of the Division of Aging, was selected for the Young Mentor Award from Harvard Medical School.
The Young Mentor Award was established in 2005 to recognize faculty who are still in the early stages of their career but devote their time to mentoring others. It is one of the HMS Excellence in Mentoring Awards, established to recognize the value of quality mentoring relationships and the impact they have on professional development and career advancement in clinical medicine, research, teaching and administration.
Schwartz is a co-principal investigator in the NIA Medical Student Training in Aging Research program at BWH. She is a geriatrician at VA Boston Health Care, where she serves as associate director for Clinical Innovation in the New England Geriatric Research Education and Clinical Center, and until 2024 as associate director of the Harvard Multicampus Geriatrics Fellowship.
