Nicolette Juliana Rodriguez, MD, MPH, of the Division of Gastroenterology, Hepatology and Endoscopy, received the Junior Alumni Award for Excellence in Diversity, Equity and Inclusion from the Brown Medical Alumni Association.
This award, first presented in 2021, recognizes medical alumni within 10 years of graduation who have demonstrated leadership in diversity, equity and inclusion activities that have led to improving awareness and engagement related to diversity in medicine and health equity.
Rodriguez is a general gastroenterologist and clinical-investigator focused on access to cancer genetics and prevention among historically marginalized populations in her role at BWH and in the Division of Cancer Genetics and Prevention at Dana-Farber Cancer Institute. She is passionate about advancing health equity in cancer genetics and prevention as well as diversity and inclusion efforts, and she serves as the director of underrepresented in medicine (URiM) fellowship initiatives in the BWH Department of Medicine.
