Samia Mora, MD, MHS, of the Divisions of Preventive Medicine, Cardiovascular Medicine and Women’s Health, was selected for the Honorary Lifetime Member Award from the National Lipid Association (NLA).
This award is given to a scientist or clinician who will lend prestige to the NLA by virtue of their unusual expertise and contributions to the field of clinical lipidology.
Mora is a cardiologist and molecular epidemiologist conducting translational research in the prevention of cardiometabolic disease, with a focus on lipid and inflammatory mechanisms. She is the director of the Center for Lipid Metabolomics at BWH, Professor of Medicine at Harvard Medical School, and the author of over 150 original peer-reviewed publications. Mora’s research and clinical interests include risk factors and prevention of cardiovascular disease.
The NLA is a nonprofit, multidisciplinary medical society that aims to enhance the science and practice of lipidology and promote optimal cardiometabolic health.
