Michael Groff, MD, vice chair of the Department of Neurosurgery, was named one of America’s Best Spine Surgeons of 2024 by Newsweek. Surgeons were included in the ranking based on Medicare data, input from medical experts and peers and consideration of American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery certifications.
In his clinical work at Brigham, Groff provides comprehensive spine care, with a specialized focus on spinal oncology, complex cervical spine disorders and minimally invasive surgical methods. His areas of research interest include spinal biomechanics, health services research, guideline development and evidence-based medicine.
Groff is the director of Spinal Neurosurgery at Brigham and Women’s and involved in multiple national neurosurgical societies, including the American Association of Neurological Surgeons and the Neurosurgery Research and Education Foundation.
