Several physician assistants (PAs) across the Brigham were recognized as part of annual PA Week celebrations that take place in October of each year. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the annual awards ceremony was canceled last year, but recipients were recently acknowledged for their exceptional contributions to patient care, education and service to their profession in a video featuring their nominators and senior leadership.
- Brigham Health Distinguished PA Award: Marissa Cauley, PA-C, Physician Assistant Clinical Educator (PACE) Service, for exemplifying excellence in patient care; dedication to institutional mission, vision and values; continued professional development; demonstrated leadership; and service as a role model in the community or profession.
- Dana-Farber Cancer Institute Distinguished PA Award: Kathleen Boyle, PA-C, and Andrea Ramsey, PA-C, Medical Oncology, Dana-Farber/Brigham and Women’s Cancer Center, for exemplifying excellence in patient care; dedication to institutional mission, vision and values; continued professional development; demonstrated leadership; and service as a role model in the community or profession.
- PA Educator of the Year Award: Elyse Doherty, PA-C, Department of Neurology, for commitment to excellence in the clinical education of PAs or PA students as a mentor and instructor; providing learner-centered education that includes constructive feedback; and participation in continued professional development that contributes to teaching and learning.
- PA/MD Team Award: Charles A. Morris, MD, and Chioma Tomlinson, PA-C, Division of General Internal Medicine and Primary Care, for commitment to excellence in patient care; promotion of the PA/MD team practice concept; and service as role models and proponents of interprofessional education and practice.
