Kristen Reed, BSN, RN, of the Neurosciences Intermediate Care Unit on Braunwald Tower 10CD, received the 2019 Holistic Nursing Rising Star Award at the American Holistic Nurses Association’s annual conference in Tulsa, Okla., this summer. This award recognizes a nurse who is dedicated to a holistic path and applies creative holistic practices in their personal and professional life.
Reed is passionate about helping others achieve optimal well-being through sustainable, holistic health and wellness practices. A certified Reiki master, she offers Reiki therapy to her patients and colleagues and is leading a Reiki Resiliency research project. Reed also leads a monthly Wellness Day for colleagues in her unit.
The American Holistic Nurses Association is a nonprofit professional organization dedicated to the advancement of holistic health care by increasing awareness and promoting education, as well as personal community-building among nurses, other health care professionals and the public.
