Seven BWHers were recently selected to join the Association of American Physicians, an organization that recognizes physician-scientists who have attained excellence in the pursuit of medical knowledge and the advancement of basic and clinical science:
- Jon Aster, MD, PhD, of the Department of Pathology
- Daphne Haas-Kogen, MD, chair of the Department of Radiation Oncology
- F. Stephen Hodi Jr., MD, director of the Melanoma Center and the Center for Immuno-Oncology at Dana-Farber/Brigham and Women's Cancer Center
- Nancy Keating, MD, of the Division of General Medicine and Primary Care
- Anthony Letai, MD, PhD, of the Division of Medical Oncology
- Nikhil Munshi, MD, of the Division of Medical Oncology
- Kornelia Polyak, MD, PhD, of the Department of Medicine
The new members were recognized at a ceremony in April.
Each year, up to 60 physician-scientists from around the U.S. are recognized by the organization, which was founded in 1885 by William Osler, MDCM, and colleagues for the advancement of scientific and practical medicine. It now has more than 2,000 active, emeritus and honorary members that hail from the U.S. and abroad.
