Anita Holbrook serves as vice president of Human Resources, Patient Care Services and Operational Excellence. In this role, Holbrook works with leadership from Human Resources (HR) and Patient Care Services at Brigham and Women's Hospital, Brigham and Women's Faulkner Hospital and Mass General Brigham (MGB) to coordinate HR operations across these locations and advocate for the mission of Nursing/Patient Care Services. As leader of the Brigham Patient Care Services HR team, Holbrook works with the executive administrator for Nursing and Patient Care Services to perform proactive financial modeling for the Brigham Family and with MGB Employee and Labor Relations to manage and support nursing labor relations at the Brigham.
An experienced leader, Holbrook has worked with nursing and medical teams across the state. She joined the Brigham in August 2022, bringing nearly 20 years of experience in HR. Prior to her role here, she was market chief human resources officer for Worcester/Framingham/Natick at Tenet Healthcare. Previously, Holbrook served in leadership roles at Steward Health Care System, where she was regional vice president of Human Resources; Norwood Hospital, where she was senior director of Human Resources and Support Services; and the Commonwealth of Massachusetts' Department of Youth Services, where she worked as director of Human Resources.
Holbrook is passionate about advancing diversity, equity and inclusion initiatives, as well as workforce planning and development; leadership development; change management; talent acquisition, continuity and review; and team performance.
She earned her Bachelor of Arts with Distinction from St. Thomas University in New Brunswick, Canada.
