Community Advisory Board of Directors

Did you know that Southern Jamaica Plain Health Center has a Community Advisory Board?
The purpose of the Board is to promote and assist in the establishment, maintenance and support of community health programs, services and education at SJPHC. This may include: creating partnerships with other neighborhood health centers, advocating the implementation of a sliding fee scale for “self-pay” clients to ensure affordable care, sponsoring appreciation luncheons for staff, or the implementation of youth outreach projects.
Currently, there are 9 members on the board working closely with the SJPHC Executive Director Thomas Kieffer.
A majority of Board members are long term clients of SJPHC and live either in Jamaica Plain or the surrounding communities. Efforts are made to ensure that the composition of the Board reflects the communities being served regardless of age, gender, race, ethnicity, sexual orientation or physical/mental challenges.
The board is looking for new members. If you have a strong interest in the services provided here at SJPHC or concerns about the health status of community residents, please get involved. The Board meets once a month from 6-7:30 pm. We need your voice to continue improving the services of SJPHC. For more information, please contact Nayda Colome at SJPHC administration, (617) 983-4239.
