The Southern Jamaica Plain Health Center is committed to meeting the needs of its patients and those in the community. Our medical and professional staff is highly-trained and is dedicated to providing outstanding service and support to patients and their families.

Adult Medicine- Provides care for acute illnesses as well as chronic health problems, with an emphasis on preventative health. Podiatry, Cardiology, and Nutrition services are also available, in addition to confidential HIV testing and counseling. For more information about our Adult Medicine services, click here.
Pediatrics- Care for well and sick children from infancy through adolescence.
Women’s Health: Care for pregnant women, with labor and delivery at Brigham and Women’s Hospital; gynecological exams, counseling, and family planning. Please call (617) 983-4134.
WIC (Women, Infants, and Children Nutrition Program): Provides nutrition and health education, healthy food and other services free of charge. Please contact Susan Wolfe at (617) 983-4132.

Insurance Enrollment: We can help you apply for free or reduced-cost health care through government programs. Call Mayra at (617) 983-4129 for more information.
Project Bread Food Assistance Program/ Food for Families : Apply for food stamps and find out about other programs that provide free or low-cost, nutritious foods. Please call Ana Acosta at (617) 983- 4240.
Passageway: Passageway works to improve the health, well-being, and safety of those experiencing or have experienced domestic violence through a variety of free and confidential services. Please call (617) 983-4148 to speak to an advocate.
Mental Health: Staffed by psychiatrists, psychologists, and social workers, our services include individual family, couple, and group psychotherapy. Support groups include stress reduction, women’s support, and chronic pain. Individual post-partum depression counseling, treatment for substance abuse, and case management is also available. Mind/Body Center: Offers yoga, meditation, T’ai Chi, and stress reduction. Please call the Mind/Body Center at (617) 983-4226.
Tobacco Cessation: Want to quit smoking? Group counseling at BWH and individual counseling at SJPHC is available. Please call Judith at (617) 983-4256.
Youth Programs

*Team Mita/ HCAP: Peer-leadership program where teen-members offer comprehensive health education workshops to their peers on sexuality and other important health topics. Please contact Abigail at (617) 983-4104.
*Girl Talk: Peer-leadership program for young women ages 11-14 where members learn about reproductive health and build self-confidence. Please call Abigail Ortiz at (617) 983-4104.
*Urban Improv/ Youth Unscripted: A youth anti-violence program using theater as an empowerment tool. This is a drop-in program and takes place every Thursday at English High School at 4 pm. Please call Abigail Ortiz at (617) 983- 4104.
SUN After School and Summer Camps For Kids: Meet with a SUN counselor to enroll your child in after-school or summer programs. A counselor can help you find transportation, financial assistance, and equipment for programs. Please call Katie Pratt at (617) 983- 4182.
JP Fit: The Southern Jamaica Plain Health Center is pleased to announce our new fitness and nutrition program called JP Fit. This free program connects our pediatric patients and their families to a coach who helps them develop health habits around food and exercise. Recently, there has been a national increase in preventable childhood diseases such as diabetes. The goal of JP Fit is to encourage children to live healthy and happy lives and hopefully prevent certain future health problems.
