Women with pre-existing medical conditions who are pregnant or planning to become pregnant may require additional obstetrical care and monitoring to ensure a healthy pregnancy and delivery. Our multidisciplinary maternal-fetal medicine clinics offer specialized high-risk pregnancy care for women who have one or more medical conditions, such as: hypertension, heart disease, diabetes, inflammatory bowel disease or other gastrointestinal diseases, hematology (blood) disorders, neurologic conditions such as multiple sclerosis and epilepsy, cancer, pulmonary (lung) diseases including asthma, psychiatric illness, and lupus or other rheumatologic disorders.
Through each of our specialized high-risk pregnancy clinics, maternal-fetal medicine physicians work closely with provider teams from our world-renowned clinical departments to provide personalized care plans for our high-risk pregnancy patients – beginning before conception and continuing through pregnancy, labor, delivery, and the post-partum period.
