Books
Approximately 1200 book titles covering all aspects of medical care and wellness. The collection includes reference, circulating, juvenile, foreign language, large print and Braille books. Weekly BookTalks on Mondays at 1:00 pm introduce visitors to the spectrum of books available. Access the online database of the holdings of this library and other Partners HealthCare System libraries. The library also provides access to approximately 400 medical eBooks through the Gale Virtual Reference Library and the netLibrary.
Magazines
Over 30 consumer health magazines span a variety of medical topics, such as Harvard Heart Letter, Arthritis Today and BabyTalk. The library also subscribes to various full-text online magazines, such as The New England Journal of Medicine.
Pamphlets and Brochures
Easy-to-read, informative pamphlets. Over 100 health topics, such as cancer, cardiovascular disease, diabetes, women's health, organ transplantation and smoking cessation. Access online pamphlets on health topics published by Brigham and Women's Hospital.
Videotapes
Over 150 health education videos that can be viewed directly from library computers or in a private conference room. Titles include - "How to Read and Use Food Labels" and "Breathing Free". Access the online database of the holdings of this library and other Partners HealthCare System.
CD-ROM Programs
Visitors can utilize online versions of The Merck Manual, Merriam-Webster's Audio Medical Dictionary and The Ultimate Human Body.
PodCasts
Bring your iPod to the library to download health Podcasts.
Computer Access
6 computers with Internet access, and dial-up and wireless access for visitors to work with their laptops in the library. Headphones are available for videos and multimedia applications. Many family waiting rooms are also equipped with Kessler Library Intranet access computers |

Reference Services
Reference library and health education staff and volunteers are available to answer all your questions and provide information on support groups and other resources. Customized information packets are available on any health topic upon request. View presentations by Brigham and Women's Hospital and Faulkner Hospital librarians on how to find good sources for health information in books band online.

Users of the Michele and Howard Kessler Health Education Library can be updated each month about the newest resources in the library. Disabilities Services
The library provides many services and resources for people with a variety of disabilities, including TTY phone access, books on tape, Braille materials and resources about disabilities topics.
Instant Messaging Ask-a-Librarian
Our Meebo Ask-a-Librarian service is available in the library and in many family waiting rooms. Request or renew books, find out more about the library, sign up for classes and ask our staff reference questions.
