Endoscopy – Non-surgical Gastric Bypass Repair Program
Christopher C. Thompson, MD, MHES, Director of Developmental and Bariatric Endoscopy
Endoscopic Gastric Bypass Repair (Endoscopic Anastomotic Reduction)
This is a scarless, non-surgical, procedure. Patients are sedated using general anesthesia and a tube is positioned from the mouth into the esophagus. All instruments are then passed through this tube to work on the stomach. Using various tools the bottom part of the pouch and the pouch outlet are made smaller. The goal of this procedure is to help patients become full more quickly after eating and help keep them full longer.
