Center for Clinical Investigation

The Center for Clinical Investigation serves as a "docking station" for clinical investigators by providing a full range of resources and services - directly or in coordination with the institutional resources of Brigham and Women's Hospital, Partners HealthCare System, Harvard Medical School and Harvard School of Public Health.

The center's multidisciplinary infrastructure provides access to an exceptionally knowledgeable staff and coordinated programs to assist with every component of any given clinical research study, from translation to outcomes.  Through the Center for Clinical Investigation, researchers may select the services they require based on their particular study needs.

Range of Services

Study design, data analysis, grant applications, experienced support staff, study management, appropriate facilities, budgeting, tracking and many other elements are critical to well-executed research at both laboratory and clinical levels.  The Center for Clinical Investigation offers:

• Biostatistics consultation
• Assistance in developing research (e.g. protocols), regulatory (e.g. IRB applications), and other study documents
• A network of experienced research coordinators
• An ambulatory clinical trials center
• Human genetics consultation and coordination of resources available at the Harvard-Partners Center for Genetics and Genomics
• Access to and information about other clinical research resources within the Partners/Harvard medical community, as well as other local and national clinical research communities
• A source for information on clinical investigations taking place at the Brigham and Women's Hospital
• Assistance accessing the resources of the General Clinical Research Center (GCRC)

Commitment to Education

The Center for Clinical Investigation places a strong emphasis on cultivating the next generation of new investigators by fostering an early introduction to the fundmentals of clinical research.  The center provides specialized training for students, investigators and coordinators through courses, workshops and seminars including:
