Sheila Harris was named director for Patient Access Services at BWH in November. Harris’ initial responsibility is to oversee the implementation of one common registration and admission system, called Compass, across Patient Access Services including planning, coordinating, training and go-live.
She most recently was a senior account executive at Ingenix Corporation in Eden Prairie, Mn., where she monitored client implementations of patient access and revenue cycle applications. Prior to that, she worked for API Healthcare in Hartford, Wisc., and Eclipsys Corporation in Atlanta, Ga.
From 1992 to 1998, Harris served as assistant director of Patient Access Services at BWH, overseeing day-to-day operations of Admitting and the Pre-admitting Test Center.
Harris earned her bachelor’s degree from Suffolk University.
