BOSTON – Brigham and Women’s Hospital, a founding member of Mass General Brigham, and Brigham and Women’s Faulkner Hospital, received an ‘A’ Leapfrog Hospital Safety Grade for Spring 2024, the non-profit Leapfrog Group announced today. This national distinction recognizes the Brigham’s achievements in patient safety and the honor marks the eleventh ‘A’ grade earned by the Brigham since the fall of 2017. In Massachusetts, only six hospitals have achieved the Leapfrog ‘A’ distinction this Spring.

"High quality, safe and compassionate health care is core to our mission. This recognition is a testament to our dedicated staff who provide excellent care each day to our patients,” said Sonali Desai, MD, MPH, Vice President of Quality and Associate Chief Medical Officer for the Department of Quality and Safety at the Brigham.

The Leapfrog Hospital Safety Grade is the only national hospital ratings program exclusively based on a hospital’s ability to prevent medical errors and harm to patients.

Leapfrog’s grading system is peer-reviewed, fully transparent and available to the public. Details can be viewed at www.HospitalSafetyGrade.org.
