The Office for Multicultural Faculty Careers (OMC) seeks to help increase the number of underrepresented minority (URM) faculty, fellows, residents and students at Brigham and Women's Hospital (BWH) and Harvard Medical School (HMS). One way that we aim to assist departmental efforts is by offering support for "second looks".
The OMC is able to offer limited financial assistance to departments that lack the resources to support second visits for underrepresented minority residency program applicants of interest. We will match the department's financial contribution up to 50% of the total amount for ground transportation or airfare charges incurred for applicant travel to and from Boston. Other travel-related expenses including hotel, meals, taxi, etc. are NOT eligible for OMC support. To minimize costs, we ask that departments consider asking their house staff to host these individuals at their homes during this visit. This is part of the OMC’s personal outreach strategy and we are willing to help you identify potential hosts if necessary.
