Physician Leadership Program Cohort I
In cooperation with the Brigham and Women's Physicians Organization and the Brigham and Women's Hospital Physicians' Council, the Center for Faculty Development and Diversity designed the Brigham Leadership Program. A collaborative initiative between BW/F and Harvard Business School, the Brigham Leadership Program was developed to enhance the leadership capacity of mid-career physicians and scientists and nursing and clinical directors. Organized to accommodate professional schedules, participants meet for four 2.5 days modules on site at HBS. The program is tailored to BW/F with action-learning projects and custom cases for and about the BW/F environment.
An integral component to the BLP is the Strategic Leadership Project. Participants are assigned to teams to work on a strategically important, practical project at the division, department, physician organization, or hospital level. Many projects are interdepartmental in nature encouraging participants to work across the organization's traditional departmental boundaries. Projects are assessment oriented and of high priority for BW/F leadership.
